Veneers are thin restorations that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to improve the appearance of stained, chipped or crooked teeth. They are a more conservative alternative to crowns. Veneers not only improve the colour of teeth, but can also close spaces between teeth, improve the length of short or worn teeth, and change the shape of teeth.
We can deliver 2 types of veneers:
- Bonded veneers, where an advanced white composite restorative material is bonded to the teeth, perhaps without any injections or drilling of tooth required. These can be completed in one single visit.
- Porcelain veneers are thin hard shells of tooth coloured porcelain. These usually require a two-appointment procedure: At the first appointment, a small amount of enamel is removed and an impression is taken of the teeth; the veneers are then constructed at a local dental laboratory from the impression, to be bonded to the front of the teeth at the second appointment.
Not all teeth are suitable for veneers and we will discuss this with you.
